BRS On Line

The next time your members take a coffee break at their desk, why not give them some business survival skills along with the cream and sugar? You provide the coffee and computer. We provide the financial expertise.

Convenient and Cost Effective - Direct to your member’s offices. You can't beat this format for being convenient. They participate by listening on the telephone and watching Powerpoint slides on the Internet right from your office. They can use a speakerphone and projector for your PC and invite their entire to staff to participate for one low price. Add in the benefits of no travel time or expense and this makes for a cost effective way to get these important and practical tools.

Live and Interactive - This isn't some boring presentation on the Web. It's live and interactive. BRS presenters are wizards at using the format's tools to make the program not only practical but highly entertaining and interesting. Participants will be interacting with Steve throughout the presentation. It's like a private talk-radio with visuals.

Equipment Needed - It's simple! All you need in one phone connection (for the audio) and one Internet connection (for the visuals), even a 56kb Internet connection will work. Complete instructions will be sent to all registrants.

What makes the group process so important?
By sharing experiences, members can learn new approaches to old issues and can develop a network of associates, even friends, who they can call on for advice, support, and as a sounding board for new ideas.
  • Rapidly share individual/team best practices.
  • Manage change quickly and respond without delay.
  • Company and organizational initiatives are reached more easily. As a result, the bottom line is positively impacted.
  • 100-200 years of combined wisdom from the participants accelerate the transfer of knowledge. As a result, each participant reaches their goals faster.

What’s the role of The Group Facilitator?
The BRS facilitator acts as a leader, an educator, and a coach. All BRS facilitators have a proven track record for providing practical tools and ideas to business owners. From time to time, they will share these tools during meetings. Their other primary responsibilities are to develop a meaningful agenda, and keep the meetings focused and constructive.

How does a BRS Performance Group differ from other industry peer groups?

BRS’ experience in financial education and group facilitation
Measurable progress with proven financial benchmarking process
Less paperwork, more useful decision-relevant information
Focused agendas

What’s a typical agenda for an onsite meeting?

Performance Groups are free to set their own agendas within certain parameters: each meeting must include a financial review, and each member must give a status report on the goals set at the previous meeting. Members must also, based on their progress, state their goals for the next meeting. All onsite meetings include a site visit to the business of one of the group member’s company that provides another valuable opportunity for sharing ideas and resources.

Is there an opportunity to discuss other issues?

While this core agenda of accountability for the goals and plans established at the initial meeting is key to long-term viability, there is time at meetings for additional topics and activities. Your facilitator and group members will suggest a number of discussion topics and activities to choose from to help you design agendas that best suit the group’s business planning and management needs. From time to time, we’ll also bring in outside experts to provide resources depending upon the groups’ needs and direction.

Why are measurement and benchmarking so important?

What gets measured gets managed! BRS provides a summary of key financial data for the members, in a format that highlights the “best practices” of the group. Benchmarks that measure profitability, productivity, financial position and cash flow are emphasized. A standard format for recording and sharing goals, action plans, and progress is also provided. These tools allow members to quickly assess how they are doing at meeting their goals, and identify the group members who are the most successful.

Who will the other group members be?

BRS will form groups that are compatible in terms of long-term goals for their companies. We will also ensure that members within the same group are not in competitive markets.

Do I need to be a financial expert to participate?

Not at all. All you need is a willingness to take control of the financial portion of your company. We’ll provide the financial education and tools. We also promise that we will keep the financial information we’ll need from you to a minimum. You'll need the ability to provide accurate and timely financial data.

What’s my commitment to the process?

  • Agree to confidentiality rules and member responsibilities
  • Consistently attend two onsite meetings per year and two on-line meetings per year
