How do I upgrade from my current version?
1. Backup your company files:
File -> Utilities -> Backup Current Company or if you have more than one company's data entered
File -> Backup All Files
2. Download the latest version from the above location
3. Double click on the downloaded executable to install it over the top of your current version. Your data should be updated automatically, but you have made a backup to be safe from data loss.
In the event you need to restore your backup:
File -> Utilities -> either Restore Files, or Restore Company depending on if you
backed up all files or current company.

With the new Import

Separated Values) file. Most accounting packages have this capability.

You have to install the program under the user that will use the
program's logon. Your
IT staff should do the following:
Log onto the computer as administrator
Give the user who will be using FIT2000 local administrative rights
Log onto the computer as the user
Install FIT
Log
onto the computer as administrator
Take away the administrative rights from the user
FIT will now accept the serial number and unlock code and will run off of trial mode.

Can we network
FIT so that we only have one version of data for all clients?
We don't support the networking of FIT2000

Can I install
FIT on more than one computer?
You may install
FIT on more than one computer owned by the same company/individual who purchased the software. An example would be a CFO who has a workstation in his office and a laptop, he may install FIT2000 on both computers. It would be a violation of the
license agreement to install FIT2000 on another person's computer in another company using the same Serial number and
Unlock Code.

If I have multiple users of
FIT, how do I keep their data up to date?
You should have one computer act as the central location of the most up-to-date data. Whenever changes are made to the data in
FIT this computer should be updated using the backup/restore utility provided in the software. Restoring the software overwrites what is there, so you should be
cautious that only one person makes changes to the data at a time.

How do I use the backup/restore utility?
There are two versions of the backup/restore utility. If you have more than one company that you are working with, you should use the 'Backup all files' utility. If you only work with one company in
FIT, you should use the 'Backup current company' utility. The backup file is much smaller and the backup takes less time if you backup only a single company rather than the entire program.
To backup all files:
File -> Backup All Files
Name the file something meaningful being careful to keep the extension of the file intact and save the file somewhere you will remember to find it.
To backup the current company:
File -> Utilities -> Backup Current Company
Name the file something meaningful being careful to keep the extension of the file intact and save the file somewhere you will remember to find it.
You can then move the file across the network, or save it to a floppy disk to
restore it to another computer.
To restore the file to FIT2000:
File -> Utilities -- either Restore Files, or Restore Company depending on if you backed up all files or current company.

When I create a profit plan, the report doesn't show the
categories underneath the parent categories, like cost of goods sold, why?
There isn't a way to break down the revenue and COGS in these reports. These reports are meant to be a overview or summary of your profit plan as you have made a projection of changes in profit. The projection doesn't include how you intend to increase or decrease profit- i.e. where a increase in revenue or a decrease in COGS will occur or by how much. This is why it only shows the top level data.

When working in the 'Edit Company' Screens with your P&L or your Balance Sheet, you must make sure to always have a name for the columns. If it is a column that you don't need, such as 'advertising expense', rename it if you can't delete it. You cannot give it a blank title.
